The popularity of the typical Dutch Lakenvelder is growing exponentially over the last couple of years.

The Lakenvelder meat was the winner of the beef test by the “Taste of NL”, organised by Foodlog, because of its delicate structure and grain. This was enough reason for Smilde to collaborate with the Lakenvelder Foundation to develop a natural Lakenvelder Sausage roll; with a butter galette and a herb mix without flavour enhancers, aromas, flavourings, fragrances, e-numbers and colouring ingredients.

As we speak, this Lakenvelder delicacy sells like ‘hot cakes’; for example at Artis, Shell and at various traditional butcheries and bakeries.
